I don’t know about you, but the moment the sun starts peeking out and the blossom trees pop, I get that urge to switch up my nails. After months of dark, moody winter colours, spring nails feel like a fresh little reset – something cheerful, bright, and totally mood-boosting.

Whether you're into soft pastels, fun florals, or glossy clean-girl neutrals, there’s something for everyone this season. So I thought I’d pop together what’s trending in the world of spring nails right now, plus some easy ways to recreate these looks at home (yes, even if you’re a total beginner with your non-dominant hand!).

🌸 What Spring Nail Trends Are In Right Now?

Let’s start with the fun bit – what’s hot in spring nails this year? Here's what I'm seeing everywhere from Pinterest and Insta to the nail salon boards:

1. Milky Pastels

Think soft baby blues, lavender lilacs, buttery yellows, and milky pinks. These look fresh, clean, and elegant – and they suit every skin tone.

💡 Tip: Go for a sheer formula or jelly finish to keep it looking light and springy rather than heavy or chalky.

2. Micro Florals

Florals for spring? Micro florals are really popular this year. Tiny daisies, little clusters, or scattered petals on just a couple of accent nails are a lovely touch.

💡 You can use a dotting tool or even a toothpick to create your own floral designs at home – it’s easier than it looks!

3. French Tip Reinvented

The French manicure has had a glow-up. This spring, it's all about coloured tips, glitter tips, or even ombré fades.

💡 Try pastel tips with a nude base or flip the classic French with a reverse French – colour near the cuticle instead!

4. Clean Girl Nails

This one’s for my minimalists – short, neat nails with a clear or sheer nude polish. Think ultra-glossy, well-kept nails that scream health and hydration.

💡 A good cuticle oil and glassy top coat are your best friends for this look.

5. Chrome and Shimmer Accents

Still going strong from winter, but softer for spring – think rose gold, lilac chrome, or shimmer layered over pastels for a pretty glaze effect.

💅 How to Recreate Spring Nails at Home

Now, I’m a big fan of doing my nails at home. It’s my little bit of self-care time, and it saves money too! Here are a few tips if you fancy giving these trends a go yourself:

1. Start with Nail Care

Your polish will only look as good as your base! Before painting you nails try:

  • Soaking your hands in warm soapy water
  • Push back cuticles gently
  • File into a shape (short and rounded is very spring!)
  • Buff the surface lightly

2. Use a Base Coat

This helps prevent staining and makes your colour apply much smoother – especially with pastel or sheer shades.

3. Layer Thin Coats

The trick to a salon-like finish? Thin, even layers. I usually do 2-3 coats of colour and let each one dry before the next.

4. Play with Nail Stickers or Tools

If you're not a natural artist, don’t worry – nail stickers, foils, and stamping kits are amazing for florals or accents. You can even get press-ons in trendy spring designs if you're in a rush!

5. Top Coat Magic

Don’t skip the top coat! A glossy finish brings it all together and helps your mani last longer. For a trendy twist, try a matte top coat on pastels – it gives such a pretty soft effect.

🌼 My Favourite At-Home Combos for Spring

Here are a few spring nail looks I’m loving right now:

  • Milky pink nails with a tiny daisy on the ring finger – classic and sweet.
  • Pale lavender French tips on a natural base – simple but chic.
  • Ombre peach to pink fade across all five nails – subtle but gives that real spring-sunset vibe.
  • Clear glossy base with pastel dot flowers – easy to do, super cute!

Final Thoughts

Whether you're a DIY nail newbie or someone who loves a new mani every week, spring is the perfect time to get playful with your nails. It doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated – a few tools, a bit of inspo, and a cup of tea while they dry, and you’re good to go.

So, are you going for florals, French tips, or the glossy clean girl look this spring? I’d love to know what’s on your nails this season!
