Simple Changes I’m Making to My Spring Beauty Routine

Spring has finally arrived, and with the warmer weather, I’ve found many little changes I need to make to my beauty routine. Parts of my body that have been hidden under cosy layers all winter suddenly need a bit of TLC, and I’m definitely switching up my skincare, makeup and nail polish to match the brighter days.

Here’s how I’m switching up my beauty routine this spring—from dry feet to glowing skin and everything in between!

1. My Feet

With the sunshine making an appearance, I’ve finally dug out my flip-flops, which is an amazing feeling! But just one week of wearing them has left my feet dry and cracked. Not exactly the spring look I was going for…

To fix this, here’s what I’ve been doing:

  • Foot cream – At the end of the day (usually while watching TV!), I slather on foot cream. My go-to products?

            •           Vaseline – a cheap, no-fuss fix that helps recover dry skin.

            •           Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream – pricier, but gives a much deeper treatment when used regularly.

  • Exfoliation – Using a scrub in the shower once or twice a week helps lift off dry, dead skin.
  • Intense exfoliation – For those really stubborn areas, I use a foot file or a pedicure tool—either manual or electric—to smooth things out.
  • Foot Masks - These are great for a deeper treatment too. You can buy your own pre-made ones or use lots of foot cream or coconut oil, then wrap your feet in cling film to help it stay on your feet.

2. Nail Colour

I gave my toenails a well-earned break over the winter and didn’t polish them at all—and now they’re looking much healthier! Perfect timing for a spring refresh.

This season, I’m swapping out the rich reds and plums of winter for softer pastels and floral tones. I’m loving the milky pink nail trend I’ve seen all over Pinterest—it’s simple, fresh, and perfect for spring.

3. Skincare

SPF is non-negotiable for me all year round, but I’m especially aware of it now that the sun is back in full force.

            •           SPF – My go-to is the Elizabeth Arden Sun Defence Cream (factor 50). It’s lightweight, doesn’t clog pores, and makes me feel like I’m doing my future skin a favour.

            •           Tinted Moisturiser – I love a dewy, glowy look in spring, and tinted moisturiser is perfect. It gives just enough coverage without feeling heavy, and gives my skin that little sun-kissed vibe (without the sun damage!).

            •           Fake Tanning – I’m all about faking it when it comes to a spring glow. My favourite is the Bondi Sands Tanning Foam (I use the dark shade and apply it at night). It’s easy to apply, doesn’t streak, and I’ve found it doesn’t ruin my white bedding as long as I wear long PJs.

4. Makeup

Just like with nails, I want to lighten everything up when it comes to my makeup too—but still keep that fresh, healthy glow.

            •           Bronzer – I love using the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit as a warm all-over glow. I’ll often layer that with a cream bronzer for contour—such a nice combo.

            •           Blusher – I’m swapping out my winter warm pinks for shimmery pinks that give more of a highlight as well.

            •           Eyeshadow – The deep browns are going away for now, and I’m loving pale pinks, creams and champagnes. The great thing about spring and summer makeup is that you can really embrace a minimal look—as long as your skin looks healthy and glowing, you don’t need much else!

Over to You!

So there you have it—my simple but effective spring beauty switch-ups. From foot care to fresh makeup, these small changes are helping me feel a little more “spring ready” without doing a complete overhaul.

Is there anything you change in your beauty routine when the seasons shift? I’d love to hear about your must-have spring products or rituals in the comments!
